Many may remember Gladi from the First Baptist Church, Riverside (FBR), Fremont Elementary, Central JHS, North HS (1970), or Girl Scouts. Gladi's parents were George and Bessie Brooks, and her older sister is Carol Stewart (Brooks). Gladi married Bradley Human, who attended FBR and North HS (1970). They had three children: Jesse Human, Hannalee Human, and Evan Human.<br><br>Bradley passed away suddenly in 2002.<br><br>Gladi and Brad were involved in Christian youth ministries.<br><br>I last saw them in the early 80s on a patrol call at the Crest Avenue Baptist Church, where Gladi and Brad ran a youth program. Gladi was her vibrant and beautiful self. I learned of Gladi's situation when I reconnected with a friend, Stacy Lewis Mullany, in 2021 at the North HS's 50th Reunion.<br><br>Stacy shared a sweet memory of Gladi, a little angel, "When I spent the night with her, she warned me that her mom would come and check on us before she went to bed to see if we were asleep.” Gladi said, “I always cover my mouth with the blanket when I hear her coming because I might smile.” I will never forget Gladi's infectious smile.
