After a cool, rather dismal weekend, temps returned to above normal levels on Monday, aided by sunny skies. Sunshine Saturday and Sunday registered 0, and 5% respectively, but improved to 74% on Monday. Monday’s only inclement feature was a west wind that gusted over 30 mph. Colder air to settle across much of the central U.S. Winter weather advisories for accumulating snow were posted for parts of North Dakota where temps hovered near 30 degrees; winds gusted over 40 mph Monday afternoon.

Readings that cold will not arrive in Chicago, but it will likely be several days before temps again top 60 degrees.

Forecasts suggest our highs will average about 4 degrees below normal during the period from April 13th through the 21st.
