James Esquivel died at home at the age of 87 on April 9, 2025 after a 14-month illness.

He is survived by his wife, Hilda (Durán) Esquivel, his sister, Berta, and his nephew, Edward Knight, along with other nephews and nieces.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Vigil/Rosary for James on Monday, April 21, 2025 beginning at 7:00 PM at Lima Family Erickson Memorial Chapel, 710 Willow St, San Jose, CA 95125. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 starting at 12:30 PM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, located at 88 Race St., San Jose, CA 95126. The interment blessings will occur at 2:00 PM at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery, 490 Lincoln St., Santa Clara, CA 95050 with Army Honors being rendered.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Jim's name to the charitable organization of your choice.
