An upcoming temporary road closure will impact the Yolo County region in the coming days, according to a release from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

Caltrans will close eastbound U.S. Highway 50 (US-50) in West Sacramento after crossing the eastbound Yolo Interstate 80 (I-80) Yolo Causeway from Davis starting on Friday as a part of the ongoing Pavement Rehabilitation Project.

The four-day-long closure was expected to start last week, but rainy weather conditions prompted the state to move the closure to the next week. Travelers are urged to plan for additional travel time.

The extended lane closures will help to minimize the duration of the work and improve workers’ safety. The scheduled closure will start at 9 p.m. Friday, March 14 and will go until 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 18.

Local traffic heading to West Sacramento can use Enterprise Boulevard (EXIT 81) or continue to eastbound I-80 and use Reed Avenue (EXIT 83).

The speed limit has been reduced to 55 miles per hour 24/7 for the safety of workers and motorists. Work is scheduled to begin at the scheduled time, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather conditions, availability of equipment and/or materials and construction-related issues.
