Happy Birthday, Army
You deserve all the accolades you got on Saturday, the 14th of June, your 250th birthday! It was quite the moving presentation and display of your soldiers and their weaponry.
It was, indeed, a most patriotic moment in my life. Made me think of all the folks in my family that served over the years, and some that are still serving.
I am so glad we have a president in Donald Trump who took the time to give you your due. So proud to be an American. So grateful to be free, even knowing that freedom isn’t free, but comes with a price.
You, our Army, had one terrific day dedicated to you. Just wonderful.

Happy 250th Birthday to our magnificent Army
I, for one, was so proud of the parade for our Army. In the past the Army has fought our wars and kept us safe.
Many lost their lives and returned home with horrendous injuries but true to America.
Many children at the parade were waving the American flag and it was a pleasure to see so many families there for this auspicious occasion. Thank you, President Trump, for showing us our mighty Army in all its glory.

Re “Military parade rolls through D.C. as protesters across U.S. decry Trump” (June 15):
I am disheartened to see today’s (June 15) front-page articles, but not surprised. Grabbing the headlines were the No Kings protests, with lots of supportively slanted “reporting” from the Associated Press. Subordinate to coverage of the protests was the “reporting” of the parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of the establishment of the United States Army, cast only in light of the protests. Why can’t the AP just report on the event for what it was: a hugely impressive and inspiring event that drew massive crowds expressing support and gratitude for the United States military, especially the Army.?
No one reports on the Rose Parade or the Macy’s Parade in the light of killing plants or pushing corporate greed. Yet the AP’s political bias has to tear down a wonderfully patriotic celebration and display of gratitude for our women and men in the military. Please, be fair.
