Imagine dealing with the booms and blasts of fireworks year-round. A week of it is already too long. Keep them illegal. Any parameters to legalize them probably would be unenforced like so many other laws. No amount of tax money would be worth it.

Another Fourth of July has passed and once again many people in Illinois have chosen to ignore the laws and stink up and pig up the neighborhoods with illegal fireworks. As much as I dislike fireworks, I wonder why our Democratic lawmakers, always lusting for more revenue, haven’t employed the same logic that they used to legalize marijuana. Everyone is doing it anyway, so why not legalize fireworks in Illinois and get even more of our cash?
