I've got just one thing to say about all those who keep complaining about the Illinois Lottery — losers. Instead of complaining, do the smart thing — stop playing. Put the money you spend on the lottery into the bank and you will be ahead at the end of the year. Gambling — and the lottery is a form of gambling — needs more losers than winners to exist. Smarten up, people.

I enjoy reading how the Democratic Party can criticize the Republican Party. Let's look at Illinois, which has been Democratically controlled for decades. Over $100 billion in debt. Billions in unpaid bills. Residents and businesses fleeing the state. Terrible school system. High crime rates. Most politicians sent off to prison. A state lottery that cannot pay those with a winning ticket. Need I go on?

I just don't understand all this “anti-Trump” stuff. He's our elected “businessman” president. All he's trying to do is make his “company” prosper again. It seems previous presidents were “politicians” who might have had the same goals, but their party's ideology came first. Even though I believe Trump's solution of a “wall” isn't going to work, I can't fathom why his strong stand against refugees from known countries who either support or abet “radical Islamic terrorism” isn't popular. Even if we let 50,000 in, you can't convince me that there aren't at least a dozen with ISIS aims to kill as many as possible. I would think that we'd want to protect us and prosper.

The administration “stubbornly clings” to the wiretap allegation, per a talking head on the 6 p.m. television news. Then the other talking heads on that channel carried the ball for 15 minutes, continuing to blather about Russian contact with administration members and associates. You see “stubbornly clings” applies only to targets of the media's wrath; “beating a dead horse” is perfectly acceptable in the pursuit of the “truth.”

President Donald Trump is claiming he has proof that President Barack Obama had the Trump Tower under surveillance during the campaign, but still has not given the intelligence committee this information. This is not a TV show and ratings week where you tease the audience with a big, explosive episode. This is an incredibly serious matter. Either produce the evidence or apologize to Obama, the British intelligence community and the American people. The waste of man hours and money on this is ridiculous.
