William “Ron” Coleman, 83, of Piedmont, passed away on April 18, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley, daughter Amy, grandchildren and faithful dog Mia. He was predeceased by his son Kent.<br><br>Ron was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska. His distinguished service in the United States Navy brought him to the Bay Area. He went on to have a forty-year career in Oakland as a social caseworker and supervisor.<br><br>One of Ron’s great loves was following the Bay area jazz scene and enjoying a good dry gin martini. He was a loyal A’s fan, often attending games with his son. Ron also had a talent for growing tomatoes on his deck.<br><br>Maybe his greatest joy was traveling with Shirley &amp; sometimes with friends. Together they explored the world. His kindness &amp; loyalty will be missed by all who knew him.<br><br>There will be a Celebration of Ron’s Life at the Chapel of the Chimes on May 10th at 1pm. Masks are required.<br>
