A two-vehicle crash in Chesterfield Township sent several people to the hospital on Saturday night, including two children, according to police.

The incident took place about 7:48 p.m. at the intersection of 21 Mile Road and Gratiot Avenue.

Responding officers said they found a Toyota pickup truck and a Chevy Blazer in the intersection with heavy front-end damage.

“All four occupants, two adults and two minors, of the Toyota were conveyed by Medstar to McLaren Mount Clemens Hospital,” police said Saturday night in a news release. “Three of those subjects were subsequently released.”

A fourth person, a nine-year-old juvenile, remains hospitalized where he was last reported to be stable condition with a non-life threatening injury.

A person in the Blazer was transported to Henry Ford Hospital in Clinton Township with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The intersection was shut down for several hours as authorities conducted their investigation.

Investigators said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
