Denzel Boston threw and caught a touchdown pass, and finished with career highs of 10 catches and 153 receiving yards to lead Washington (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) to a 42-25 victory over No. 23 Illinois (5-3, 2-3) on Saturday.

“That’s who he is,” coach Jedd Fisch said of Boston. “I think he’s one of the best receivers in the country. And we’ve continued to find ways to get him the ball, and we’ll always continue to do that.”

Its sixth victory matched the Huskies’ total number of wins from the 2024 campaign, which was coach Jedd Fisch’s first at Washington.

“It’s great that we got six wins,” Boston said. “We got many more to go.”

It was the Huskies’ second win against a Top 25 team under Fisch; Washington beat No. 10 Michigan 27-17 at home last season.

“It was great to get a win against a Top 25 team,” Fisch said. “They’re a very good football team. They won 10 games last year.”

The Fighting Illini lost for the third time in five weeks after a 3-0 start to the year in which they were ranked as high as No. 9 in the nation.

Indiana 56, UCLA 6 >> Aiden Fisher intercepted the first pass of the game and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown and the Mendoza brothers — Fernando and Alberto — each ran for scores as No. 2 Indiana (8-0, 5-0 Big Ten) routed UCLA (3-5, 3-2).

The Hoosiers extended their school-record home winning streak to 14, protected the highest ranking in school history for the second straight week and now open a second straight November with a perfect record.

Fernando Mendoza was 15 of 22 for 168 yards, three TDs and one interception before leaving late in the third quarter, getting serenaded again with chants of “Heismendoza” from the student section.

“It was on a big platform against a team that was hot, and we wanted to be physical and dominate the line of scrimmage, and I thought we did that early in the game,” said Indiana coach Curt Cignetti, who still hasn’t lost a home game.

UCLA’s three wins heading into the game came against opponents that were a combined 1-11 in conference play.

oregon 21, Wisconsin 7 >> Jordon Davison ran for 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns and No. 6 Oregon (7-1, 4-1 Big Ten) overcame a slow start to hand Wisconsin (2-6, 0-5) its sixth straight loss with a lackluster victory.

Wisconsin avoided its third straight shutout with Hunter Simmon’s 2-yard touchdown pass to Lance Mason with 7:57 to go in the game.

NEBRASKA 28, Northwestern 21 >> Emmett Johnson scored the tie-breaking touchdown on a 4-yard run with 2:44 left, and Nebraska (6-2, 3-2 Big Ten) ended a four-game winning streak for Northwestern (5-3, 3-2) with a victory to become bowl eligible for the second straight season.

The Cornhuskers bounced back from a loss last week at Minnesota. Eleven of the last 14 meetings have been one-score games.

rutgers 27, purdue 24 >> Jai Patel’s 30-yard field goal as time expired gave Rutgers (4-4, 1-4) a victory over Purdue (2-6, 0-5).

Despite five sacks, quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis completed 19 of 27 passes for 359 yards improving Rutgers’ all-time record to 3-0 vs. Purdue.

The victory gave Rutgers its first Big Ten win of the season while Purdue remained winless in conference play.
