CROWN POINT

What to watch: The Bulldogs (5-5) are one of the best defensive teams in Northwest Indiana, allowing only six points against Lake Central last week. Merrillville (5-5), meanwhile, has played without starting quarterback Cameron Wright since he broke his collarbone against Valparaiso in Week 7.

Advancement: Plays the winner of the LaPorte-Penn game for the regional championship.

Class 6A Sectional 2

PENN AT LAPORTE

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday, www.rrsn.com.

What to watch: The Slicers (9-1) struggled to score for the first time all year in a 17-7 victory over Chesterton last week. Penn (10-0) is a cut above any team that plays in Northwest Indiana. It beat Valparaiso 35-7 last week. The Kingsmen are ranked No. 2 in the Class 6A Associated Press poll

Advancement: Plays the winner of the Crown Point-Merrillville game for the regional championship.

Class 5A Sectional 9

MICHIGAN CITY

AT MISHAWAKA

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday.

What to watch: The Wolves (7-3) will have their hands full against Mishawaka (9-2). The Cavemen are ranked No. 6 in the Class 5A AP poll. Mishawaka beat Crown Point and Portage from the Duneland Athletic Conference and only lost to Penn by a touchdown.

Advancement: Plays the winner of the Goshen-Fort Wayne Snyder game for the regional championship.

Class 4A Sectional 17

LOWELL AT MUNSTER

When: 7 p.m. Friday, WTMK-FM (88.5), www.rrsn.com.

What to watch: Lowell (7-4) has rumbled through its last five games, winning them by an average of nearly 36 points. Munster (6-5) looked sharp in an opening-round upset over East Chicago Central and win over Highland last week. Red Devils won the first game between the teams by 31. This one should be closer.

Advancement: Plays the winner of the New Prairie-Hobart game for the regional championship.

Class 4A Sectional 18

HOBART AT NEW PRAIRIE

When: 7 p.m. Friday, WEFM-FM (95.9), www.rrsn.com

What to watch: Hobart (9-2) is trying to win its first sectional title since 1997. New Prairie (9-2) is ranked No. 9 in the AP Class 4A poll. The Brickies haven't been to a sectional championship game since 2009. This should be a tight game.

Advancement: Plays the winner of the Lowell-Munster game for the regional championship.
