ILLEGAL GUN: Eric M. Hecker, 33, 7700 block of McVicker Avenue, Burbank, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, three counts of aggravated assault, reckless conduct and child endangerment during a June 12 domestic disturbance, police said. Officers retrieved a 9 mm handgun without serial numbers from Hecker’s vehicle after reviewing an exterior video recording at the residence, police said. In a related action, officers took Hassan E. Malley, 34, East Chicago, Indiana, into custody on a fugitive from justice warrant, police said.

Evergreen Park

ILLEGAL GUN: Kenneth Dean, 23, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, illegally possessing a stolen motor vehicle and resisting arrest June 18 at Walmart, 2500 95th St., after officers determined he had parked a carjacked vehicle in the parking lot and then found him in the store with an undisclosed gun, police said.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Amador Leanos, 32, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated battery and assault while at OSF Little Company of Mary Hospital for an involuntary psychological evaluation June 18 after he hit a hospital employee trying to prevent him from leaving before being discharged, police said.

STOLEN CAR: Armani Harbin, 19, Chicago, was arrested and accused of illegally possessing a stolen motor vehicle June 16 in the 9400 block of Kedzie Avenue after an officer spotted him driving the vehicle, which had been reported stolen from an alley in Chicago, police said.

Frankfort

BANK ROBBED: Will County sheriff’s police say a woman with a gun hit an employee in the back of the head as she attempted to gain entry into the vault, while a second gunman tapped a teller for cash during a June 17 robbery at the BMO Harris branch, 19500 S. Harlem Ave. The 11:40 a.m. holdup occurred while numerous customers were inside the bank branch in unincorporated Frankfort Township, police said. The two were masked and gloved and took the money in bags they had brought, and fled in a dark blue Dodge Challenger northbound on Harlem Avenue. Frankfort Fire emergency medical services treated the injured employee at the scene. Police ask anyone with information to call detective Danielle Strohm at 815-727-8574, Ext. 4930.

Lansing

SHOOTING: A 21-year-old Harvey man who shot at another person June 15 afternoon in the Walmart parking lot, 27625 Torrence Ave., was charged with aggravated discharge of a weapon, police said. Responding officers apprehended Demitrus R. Ross, 21, 15500 block of Lexington Avenue, Harvey, in the 2200 block of 175th Street, about 1/2 mile from the shooting scene and recovered the firearm nearby, police said. The intended victim was uninjured, police said. Ross was booked into Cook County Jail Friday, where he remained Wednesday in lieu of $75,000 bond, according to sheriff’s records online.

Monee

BUILDING CRASH: A business in the 25600 block of Governors Highway received extensive damage at about 9:20 a.m. June 13 when a University Park resident lost control of his vehicle and struck the building’s front. The motorist, who wasn’t immediately charged, was transported to a hospital with injuries not deemed life threatening, police said. Crash-related debris damaged several vehicles parked nearby, police said.

CAR THEFT: A 2018 Dodge Challenger containing a handgun in the console was reported stolen between midnight and 2 a.m. June 14.

New Lenox

AGGRAVATED CARJACKING: An Uber driver responding to a 6:15 a.m. Tuesday call near Hibernia Park was met instead by two masked males who pistol-whipped him and took his car, wallet and cellphone, police said. The duo, who apparently found the vehicle too difficult to operate, abandoned it several blocks away and fled in a white Hyundai Accent driven by an accomplice, police said. The victim was treated for a head injury at a medical center, police said. The Hyundai had been reported stolen out of Chicago, police said, adding there is no connection between the original caller and the offenders. BURGLARY: Several unidentified persons smashed out the front glass door at Speedway, 301 Maple St., at about 1 a.m. June 14, and stole cigarettes selling for $8,000.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Edward Butler Jr., 29, Joliet, was taken into custody June 14 at Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital after punching three persons in the face and then kicking them after they fell, police said. The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment, police said.

Oak Lawn

AGGRAVATED BATTERY: Two Chicago men wanted for robbing and beating a 74-year-old man Friday evening were taken into custody after leading police on a mile-long chase through Bridgeview and into Burbank, police said. Ivan Garduno, 26, and Heberto Flores, 31, are charged with aggravated battery and robbery, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital with broken ribs and facial bruises, police said. The attack occurred at the Citgo gas station, 6801 W. 87th St., and the suspects, initially pursued by a police sergeant, drove through a crash investigation at 84th Street and Harlem Avenue and eventually collided with another vehicle at 83rd Street and Nottingham Avenue, police said. Officers searching their vehicle recovered the victim’s cellphone and cash.

Orland Park

MODIFIED GUN: David Sanchez, 22, 10500 block of Walter Drive, Palos Park, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and illegally possessing ammunition after officers recovered a “heavily modified” loaded 9 mm handgun with no serial number from the car trunk during a June 6 traffic stop at 143rd Street and John Humphrey Drive, police said. Sanchez lacked a firearm owner’s identification card and concealed carry license for the weapon and six bullets, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Tavares P. Dean, 20, Chicago, was arrested and accused of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon after officers recovered a .22 caliber handgun and six loose bullets from a fanny pack during a June 10 traffic stop at 149th Street and Orland Square mall, police said. Officers searched the fanny pack after recovering 2 grams of marijuana from the vehicle, police said. Tavares, at 20, is too young to qualify for a firearm owner’s identification card or concealed carry license, under Illinois law.

Palos Heights

DUI: Krzysztof Merta, 53, Chicago, was arrested and accused of drunken driving June 11 in the 11900 block of Harlem Avenue after rear-ending a car stopped for a red light, propelling it into the stopped car in front of it, police said.

Palos Hills

ARSON ARREST: Abdullah A. Daoud, 20, undisclosed address, Palos Hills, was arrested and accused of arson June 14 in connection with a morning fire at an unoccupied unit in the 10200 block of Roberts Road, police said. No injuries were reported.

SHOOTING ARREST: Mohamad O. Adwan, 30, 3800 block of 121st Place, Alsip, was arrested June 13 and accused of aggravated discharge of a firearm in connection with an April 8 shooting at 103rd Street and Harlem Avenue in which no one was injured, police said. Adwan was booked into Cook County jail June 14,wherehe remained Wednesday in lieu of $100,000 bond, according to sheriff’s records online.

Park Forest

ILLEGAL GUN: A domestic disturbance call a little before 10 p.m. June 14 on the village’s south side turned into a search for a felon in a nearby wooded area, police said. The unarmed suspect, Tony D. Jones, 52, 400 block of Talala Street, Park Forest, was immediately arrested on accusations of domestic battery and obstructing justice after turning himself in to officers, police said. He was also charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon after officers reviewed a video recording and located 17 bullets at the location of the disturbance, police said. The Will County sheriff’s police K-9 unit assisted in the search, police said.

ILLEGAL GUN: Jahad McFadden, 20, Chicago, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon during a June 13 traffic stop at Sauk Trail and Westwood Drive after officers recovered a Sig Sauer handgun loaded with seven bullets, including one chambered, from under his seat, police said.

Steger

RECOVERED VEHICLE: A Dodge Charger reported stolen from Kansas City, Missouri, turned up in the 300 block of Sauk Trail with a bullet hole in the driver’s side window, a flat front tire and spare tires on the rear rims, police said.
