LOS ANGELES — Hundreds of people gathered throughout the Southland on Saturday in more demonstrations against the Trump administration, part of a nationwide series of “Hands Off! Our Democracy, Stop the Cuts Rally” protests.
Videos posted on social media showed a large crowd along Santa Monica Boulevard in Beverly Hills, and on Pacific Coast Highway in Laguna Beach.
Other rallies were scheduled at Culver City Hall, and in Santa Clarita at McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard, Santa Clarita. A complete listing of events was available at indivisibleca27.com.
Regular demonstrations have been held against President Donald Trump on recent weekends in downtown Los Angeles and other Southland spots. The protesters generally focus on the administration’s increased deportations, steep tariffs, program cuts and mass layoffs of federal workers.
“Anyone who thinks protests, lawsuits and law fare will deter President Trump must have been sleeping under a rock for the past several years,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said earlier this month regarding the demonstrations. “President Trump will not be deterred from delivering on the promises he made to make our federal government more efficient and more accountable to the hardworking American taxpayers across the country who overwhelmingly reelected him.”
