Valparaiso police said a man exposed himself to a 9-year-old girl.

Police were called around 8:30 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 700 block of East Institute Street, where the girl’s mother said the girl, a sister and a friend were playing hide and seek near the Banta Center, 605 Beech St.

While the girl was hiding in the bushes on the west side of the center along College Avenue, a man stopped and got out of a small black passenger vehicle. The girl told police he was wearing gray sweatpants and a black T-shirt.

The man exposed himself while looking at the girl, the report said. He was about 30 feet from the girl at the time.

The girl said the man was about 20 years old and had medium length brown hair and a mustache, the report said.

Police told both families to notify them if they have any further information on the man.
