LANDAFF, NH - James W. Copithorne III, 77, of Landaff, NH, formerly of Framingham, MA, passed Monday, May 19, 2025, at Dartmouth- Hitchcock Medical Center due to complications from surgery.

Jim was the husband of 40 years to Janice E. (Johnson) Copithorne. Born and raised in Framingham, MA, he was the son of the late and Ella Winnetta (Walkup) and James W. Copithorne, Jr.

He graduated from Framingham South High in 1966. He attended Northeastern University night school and worked at Dennison as a machine operator. Jim worked at Kenway Printing in Brockton then at A.L. Larsen Companies from 1970 until his retirement in 2015. Never a man to stay idle, Jim worked at the Home Depot in Natick on their MET team until his retirement in 2024. He worked as a beer pourer at Gillette Stadium for 5years and dressed hot dogs at Zippity Dogs in Framingham. He then moved to be closer to his son, Matthew, in Landaff, NH where he built ahome across the street.

Jim loved all animals, especially his dog, Bandit. He loved to use his wood lathe to create pens and bowls for the family. He was looking forward to going fishing in the lakes and rivers in NH.

Besides his wife, Jim leaves behind his son, Matthew (Rhiannon Hobbs) Copithorne; three granddaughters, Allison of Westborough, MA, Meredith of Lebanon, NH, and Olivia ofLandaff, NH; siblings, Judith (John) McEntegart of Framingham, Jo Ann (Kenneth) Thorpe of Framingham, David (Erin McGrath) Copithorne of Framingham; sister-in-law, Sandra Johnson Fairbanks of Hopkinton, MA; brother-in-law, Frank (Marjorie) Johnson of Upton, MA; former daughter- in-law, Stephanie Delahunt of Hyannis, MA; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his infant son, Brian.

Per Jim’s request, there will not be a wake or funeral. A Celebration of Life will be held later.
