October 2, 1932 - December 11, 2024 Resident of San Jose Frances passed away peacefully at home on the morning of December 11 at the age of 92. Born October 2, 1932 in San Jose to Keiichi and Matsuyo Idehara. In 1957, Frances married Tad Sawamura and together they raised three children, Steven, Jacquelyn, and Jaimie.
Frances, her husband Tad, brother-in-law Shin, and sister-in-law Dolly successfully operated Sawamura Brothers Wholesale Florist, growing quality carnations for over 30 years in Mtn. View and San Jose, until their retirement in 1988. Frances then worked for Fujii Florist in Santa Clara as a floral arranger for 18 years. Frances was a longtime member of the Mountain View Buddhist Temple where she served as a Dharma School teacher for 60 years.
Frances leaves behind her son, Steven (Robin), daughters, Jacquelyn (Glenn) Sawamura-Machida and Jaimie (Rob) Holzknecht, grandsons, Scott and Brian Sawamura, brother Roy Idehara, and sister Keiko Nakano. Predeceased by husband of 62 yrs., Tad, parents Keiichi and Matsuyo Idehara, and sisters Yoshiko Idehara, Sakae Shimoe, Masuye Idehara, Jun Idehara, and Hiroko Palinsky.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 12th, at 2:00 pm at the Mountain View Buddhist Temple, 575 North Shoreline Blvd., Mountain View, CA 94043.
