In loving memory of Larris W. Dorman, AKA Larry, 83 of Paradise, CA. After overcoming many challenges, Larris passed on from this place to that on Feb. 11, 2023. Larris was the youngest born to Robert and Gladys Dorman in Beacon, IA. He is survived by brother Dwight (Red) Dorman; preceded by siblings Robert (Red) Davern Dorman and Darlene Dorman-Guzzi.
Larris was a devoted husband, loving father, loyal friend, and the greatest Papa ever. He put his family and friends above all else—never missing a chance to say, “I love you,” show up for his loved ones, or make a new friend.
Larris married Jan. 1960 and was preceded by his wife Judith A. Dorman, née Byers. They are survived by their beloved sons Timothy Dorman (m. Lori) and Douglas Dorman. Larris married Betty A. Dorman, née Sexton in June 2009 with cherished children Shaunette Twitchel (m. Michael) and David Hall (m.
Nikki). He is loved and treasured by his grandchildren Danielle, Brandon, and Cole Dorman; Jossilyn, Michael, and Toni Twitchel; and Annabella and Colsen Camilli.
Larris was a talented man who excelled in all his many passions including pool, sports, boating, jetskiing, and helping his community. He was a dominant pitcher and standout basketball player throughout his high school years. He was known and respected for his automotive and mechanical knowledge, and for his helping hands. He built many street rods and upholstered many more. He worked hard his entire life, but he also loved to have a good time and speed around the lake on his watercrafts.
Services will be Friday, March 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m. at Newton-Bracewell Cremation and Funeral Service at 5691 Almond St. Paradise Ca. 95969. Immediately following will be interment at Paradise Cemetery.
