GOP: $775 a day per kid isn’t enough to properly care for these immigrant children. Also, according to the GOP: $7.25 an hour minimum wage for poor parents is plenty of money to care for their children.

You can just bet that some Trump-crazed conservatives will insist that the photograph of the drowned man and his daughter is a deepfake or they are paid actors or something else outrageously stupid that they’ll dream up. The horror of it will never occur to them. After all, these people aren’t actual human beings. They’re illegal immigrants.

Mark Morgan will now oversee the CBP, which has thousands of children in its custody in detention facilities. “I’ve looked at them and I’ve looked at their eyes and I’ve said that is a soon-to-be MS-13 gang member. It’s unequivocal.” He can see that in a baby’s eyes? The cruelty with these people is the only point.

More than 2,000 patients from Franciscan Health had their medical information and other personal data breached. You can’t really blame the facility because they have no way of knowing if an employee is capable of doing this. They can, however, press charges, that might prevent someone else from doing the same thing. Huge fines and jail time might stop this.

Well, summer is here and Park Avenue in Wheeler is as bad as ever. I suppose soon the patches will be around. There are so many patches on it you better hang on to your dentures or anything else as it is like a washboard road.

Trump’s nominee for press secretary has been charged twice with DUI. This is not unusual for a man that continues to pick incompetent, unqualified people for his administration. What is unbelievable is that there isn’t outrage from every citizen of this democracy to remove this man from office.

If the police want to play dress up like they’re an army in occupation of an enemy force, they shouldn’t be too surprised when the public reacts to them that way. Why should I cooperate with an enemy army? Why would I help them? I wouldn’t. I’d be happy to lend a helping hand and my respect to a police department who’s there to look out for me, though.

Cathedral High School, an Indiana Catholic school has decided to fire a teacher, just for being gay. This is hard to understand because this teacher did nothing wrong. The entire Catholic Church, dioceses, and schools that hired the abusive clergy for decades, choose to hide them and shuffle them around. They didn’t get fired, until just a few, and just recently, after much publicity.

Since I have started pointing out the gaping holes in the theology of the antiabortion protesters in downtown Valparaiso, they have started claiming that their arguments are based on “science.” This usually involves misrepresenting good research as well as citing poorly designed and fabricated studies that support their position. I guess their positions are now based on bad theology and bad science. That puts them one step below the anti-vaxxers.

I am glad to see that the National Organization for Women is counterprotesting Porter County Right to Life in Valparaiso. Good people need to know that they are not alone.

This administration has a very flawed relationship with the media. They want to tell the media what to report, how to do it, and then admonish them for not doing it exactly how they dictated it. But they blame the media as the “enemy of the people.”

Melania Trump’s hypocrisy is jawdropping. She boasts about her “Be Best” initiative working “to improve the lives of children everywhere,” while her own husband’s immigration policies have created conditions of unbelievable squalor and suffering for children along our southern border. No wonder Trump has decided to put Melania’s press agent in charge of White House communications. Anyone who can twist the truth that far will always find advancement in Trump’s world.

Trump never runs away from a fight. He can’t run; he has bone spurs.
