Resident of Sunnyvale Kathleen passed to her heavenly home on November 29, 2025. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of the late Judge James G. and Regina Legnard. She is predeceased by her three brothers, James, Gilbert, Paul and sister Nancy. She is survived by her husband, Stephen, of 70 years.
Kathleen was the mother of five sons, Stephen, wife Karin, Thomas, wife Lorraine, Michael, wife Lori, Charles, wife Chrissy, and Kenneth, wife Tami. Kathleen was a wonderful wife and companion. She was Grandmother of twelve much loved grandchildren; Stephen, Justin, Erin, Christopher, Zachary, Tyler, Ryan, Megan, Parker, Morgan, Taylor and Tucker. She was great grandmother of Keira Riley, Eavan Marleen, Nolan Carter, Norman Paul, Wesley Thomas, and Nash Weston.
Kathleen was employed at El Camino Hospital (ECH) for 25 years, where she made many friends. She served as Unit Secretary on the surgical floor and the ICU when she retired. While working at ECH she attended De Anza College and earned an AA degree. She went on to San Jose State University earning a BS degree.
She was active in the ECH Retirees Association. She served Church of the Resurrection in various ways, as member of the Parish Council and as Eucharistic Minister for more than 20 years. Kathleen always wanted to make memories for her family. To that end, she presided over annual Santa parties, Easter Egg Toss competitions, live square dances on the street in front of her home, cross country car trips, snow ski, and houseboat vacations.
She baked and distributed pink cookies by the thousands and religiously sent five-dollar bills in Halloween and Valentine cards to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Vigil and Rosary will be held on Friday, December 5th at 7 PM at LIMA &CAMPAGNA SUNNYVALE MOR- TUARY, 1315 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 6th at CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION, 1399 Hollenbeck Ave., Sunnyvale CA. Private interment to follow at a later date.
