Jake Escalante and Gabe Virgallito each had two hits and scored a run. Hudson Summerrill had a hit and two RBI.

At Harbor 3, Stevenson 2 >> Robert Andrades hit a two-out, RBI single in the sixth inning to plate the go-ahead run in the Pirates’ nonleague win Tuesday. Liam Nunes and Aiden Boles also singled in the frame.

The Pirates had five hits and took advantage of four Stevenson errors.

Reliever Max Falconer pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Starting pitcher Jaxson Hoye gave up five hits and two earned runs over4 2/3 innings, and struck out eight batters.

Carlos Cruz had four hits, five RBI, and scored twice for Cabrillo. Adrian Castaneda had three hits, a walk, and scored a run. Jacob Fiorenza had two hits, a walk, and two RBI, and Trez Uemoto had two hits and scored a run.

Scotts Valley 11, at Salinas 7 >> Senior midfielder Sofia Niklaus had six goals, a whopping 17 draw possessions (a 77% win rate), and eight draw controls in the Falcons’ season opening win Tuesday.

Senior midfielder Skylar Dufour had three goals and seven draw controls. Senior midfielder Dillon Fiorita had two goals and two draw controls.

Scotts Valley 6, at Leigh 1 >> Senior pitcher Sofie Seese gave up one unearned run over seven innings and struck out six batters in the Falcons’ nonleague win Tuesday. She gave up just two hits.

Scotts Valley trailed 1-0 through five innings, but scored twice in the sixth and four times in the seventh.

Senior Taylor Wilson had a hit, three RBI, and scored twice for the Falcons. Senior Abby Howell had two hits and scored a run.

In singles action, MVC’s Kyle Kaiser beat Aditya Hannon 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 and MVC’s Vinni Fluegge defeated Jacob Bodeman 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3. Falcons junior Jonas Duarte defeated Ethan Komrosky 4-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-6) in a third set tie-breaker.

Spencer Layne-Irby and Baden Kent, Skyler Ferlito and Connor Mace, and Ben Hall and Connor Fisher won doubles matches.
