A driver tried to hit a woman with his car, then beat and abducted her from an Oakland street, police reported.
The stolen vehicle used in the kidnapping was later found, but the woman and her abductor both remain missing, Oakland police said in a Thursday news release.
Police said a man tried to ram the woman as she walked on 98th Avenue at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The driver allegedly got out and punched the woman repeatedly, injuring her.
ABDUCTED
The man then dragged her to the car and pushed her inside as she yelled that she was being kidnapped, police said. He then drove away westbound on 98th Avenue.
A video shows the kidnapping, but police warn it may be difficult for some people to watch.
Neither person has been identified, police said.
Police describe the victim as a Black woman between 20 and 22 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and 140 pounds, with black and blue dreadlocks or braids. She was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie and light-colored jeans.
The kidnapper is described as a Black man from 20 to 24 years old, also about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a thin build and short, twisted hair with a scar or mark on his left cheek.
He was last seen wearing a black hoodie with a white logo on the back, blue jeans and white shoes, police said.
Police ask anyone with information to call 510-238-3641 or dial 911.
