Antonio L. DeMatos, 85, passed away on September 7, 2022. He was born on March 20, 1937, in Vale Verde, Pico Azores and migrated to Faial Azores, the son of Antonio and Maria Matos.

Antonio was in the Portuguese Army from 1956 to 1960. After the Army he married Maria Adilia Brum and they settled in San Jose, CA they were married for 62 years. He was a founding member of Santa Clara Portuguese Band, a society member of Nossa Sonhor De- Fatima, Saint Antonio, Santa Cecelia, Espirto Santo, and a long time member of the Stanford University landscaping crew.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother Manuel Mattos. Surviving in addition to his wife Maria (Brum) DeMatos, his son Antonio Matos and his wife Andrea of San Jose, Son George Matos and his wife Carla of San Matin; Six grandchildren, Antonio Matos, Stephan Matos, Cassandra Weber, Erica Young, Miguel Matos and Andre Matos; Four great grandchildren, Lucille Weber, Nash Weber, Hazel Young and Josie Weber; one sister Maria Rosa.

Rosery service will be held 7:00 pm Sunday, October 2, 2022 at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, 466 N. Winchester Blv., Santa Clara, 95050; On Monday October 3, 2022 the procession to Santa Clara Mission Cemetery will be departing at 10:00 am from Lima’s.
