Passed away on March 11, 2024; age 69. Beloved husband of Christine for 37 years.

Loving father of Justin (Jasmine) Weis, Nicholas (Danielle) Lockwood and Stephen (Alyssa) Lockwood. Proud Papa of Cody, Layla, Damian, Conner, Adam, Jack, Penny, Lennan, and Brooks. Son-in-law of Charlie Weis and the late Joan Weis. Preceded in death by his parents Ray and Lousie Lockwood and his sister, Shelley. As a graduate of Northern Michigan University, Larry embarked on a notable career serving Waterford Township for over 30 years and retired as the Superintendent of Planning and Zoning. He was an excellent athlete and loved golfing in his league and with his sons, playing and watching ice hockey, and cheering on Michigan football. He also spent many years coaching youth hockey in the Metro Detroit area and was affectionately known as “Coach Larry” to countless players. Larry had a keen eye for landscape design and spent many summers completing projects around the house. Larry had a special bond with his pups, and never missed a chance to take them for long evening walks. But most importantly, Larry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

One of his greatest qualities was his sense of humor, brightening the lives of those fortunate to know him. Remembered as a remarkable man, Larry embodied thoughtfulness and consideration, and lived his life with passion and purpose. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a tree in Larry’s memory. Arrangements entrusted to Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 1:00pm-5:00pm at Fountains Golf & Banquet Center, Clarkston.
