Sunday will be a homecoming, of sorts, for the well-traveled Blach. The lefty made five starts for Baltimore in 2019, going 1-3 with an 11.32 ERA before he hurt his elbow. He lost both of his starts at Camden Yards, allowing 13 runs on 18 hits across 6 1/3 innings. On Tuesday, Blach, making his seventh start for the Rockies (14th appearance), allowed three runs on seven hits in four innings in a 12-7 loss at Tampa Bay. He didn’t take the loss but he wasn’t quite as sharp as he had been. In six starts since joining the rotation on July 23, he’s 1-1 with a 3.25 ERA. The Orioles have not announced their starter but it’s likely going to be right-hander Jack Flaherty, whom the Orioles acquired from St. Louis at the trade deadline.
