


The spring playoffs are set to begin on Monday with the fields for boys lacrosse, girls lacrosse, boys volleyball, and boys tennis coming into focus as the regular season wraps up.
The boys tennis playoffs begin at 4 p.m. Monday as No. 6 Archie Williams (6-10) travels to No. 3 Marin Catholic (11-5) and No. 5 Tam (9-7) treks north to face No. 4 San Marin (10-6).
The semifinals are set for 4 p.m. Wednesday with top seed Redwood (16-0) hosting the lowest remaining seed while No. 2 Branson (13-3) hosting the other semifinal. The final is set to take place at 4 p.m. Friday at Novato High.
The other three tournaments begin on Tuesday. Boys lacrosse sees No. 5 Terra Linda (4-4) face No. 4 Novato (5-3) at 4 p.m. while No. 6 San Marin (3-5) squares off against No. 3 Redwood (6-2).
Unbeaten Marin Catholic (8-0) awaits the lower seed in the semifinals at 4 p.m. Thursday while No. 2 Tam (7-1) hosts the other semifinal. The boys final is set for 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Marin Catholic.
The girls bracket sees No. 6 Terra Linda (3-5) travel to face No. 3 Marin Catholic (6-2) at 4 p.m. while No. 5 Branson (4-4) faces No. 4 San Marin (5-3).
Top-seeded Redwood (8-0) earned the top seed and hosts one semifinal at 4 p.m. Thursday. No. 2 Tam (7-1) hosts the other semifinal. The championship game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Marin Catholic.
No. 6 San Rafael (4-10) goes across town to face No. 3 Terra Linda (9-5) to open the boys volleyball playoffs at 7 p.m. Tuesday. No. 5 Novato (5-9) battles No. 4 Archie Williams (8-6) in the other matchup.
Redwood (14-0) and Tam (12-2) each host semifinals on Wednesday night with the final at Archie Williams at 7 p.m. Friday.
The MCAL golf championships will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday at StoneTree. The diving championships are set for 4:30 Thursday at Miwok Aquatic Center in Novato. The first day of swimming competition starts at 2 p.m. Friday at Redwood with the championships set to begin at 1 p.m. next Saturday at Redwood.
Girls swimming
Tam capped a perfect 9-0 campaign in league following a 121-65 win against Redwood on Friday. The Red-tailed Hawks were led by double winners Addison Everage (200 IM, 100 back) and Annika Hayes (100 fly, 100 breast).
Tam, which won all three relays, got North Coast section consideration times from Hayes (100 fly, 100 breast), Sophia Uhlhorn-Thornton (100 fly), and Elle Philp (100 back). Avery Gunst won the 200 free for Redwood.
Prep softball
Thomara Drummer had three hits and held Albany to two hits as San Rafael (7-11) secured a 4-0 victory on Friday. Drummer struck out 15 hitters and walked none. At the plate, Drummer drove in two runs, walked, and scored twice. Sophia Everett had two hits and scored twice. Kennedy Parker and Cherise Castagne also had RBIs.
• Lydia Battaglia had two hits, a home run, and drove in three to help Archie Williams (13-4) pick up a 7-1 victory against Rancho Cotate on Friday. Paige Murphy had three hits and limited Rancho Cotate to six hits in seven innings of work, striking out 11. Parker Conrad had a hit and two RBIs while Kennedy Dunsing had two hits and drove in a run.
• Tam picked up a 2-1 victory against Pinole Valley on Friday. Tam (12-4) scored a run in the first and second inning. No further information was available at press time.
Boys lacrosse
Johnny Roman and Tyler Smith tied for team-high honors with five goals each as Novato wrapped up the regular season with a 14-9 victory against Piedmont on Friday. Roman added two assists. Parker Napp scored twice, Brian Yates added a goal and three assists, and CJ Castro had a goal and two assists.
Boys tennis
No. 4 seed San Domenico bowed out of the BCL West playoffs following a 5-2 loss against No. 5 Bay on Thursday. Toby Sadzeck picked up a win at No. 1 singles and Harrison Seay/Erich Hajek Linares won at No. 3 doubles.
Boys golf
Oskar Valiagua shot a 40 to lead San Domenico to a 186-210 win over Drew at Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco on Thursday. The Panthers are looking to claim the fourth and final invitation into the BCL West championship tournament at Peacock Gap and could secure their place with a win against Stuart Hall on Tuesday.
