Police investigate bomb threat to library

Boulder police investigated a bomb threat made to the Boulder Public Library main campus on Saturday, and they did not find explosive devices.

Around 4 a.m. Saturday, police received an email about the bomb threat that targeted the Boulder Public Library at 1001 Arapahoe Ave. An “unknown person” emailed the threat, according to Boulder police spokesperson Dionne Waugh.

Multiple officers, including the explosives detection K9 team, searched the building and the surrounding area. Police reported that the threat was unfounded.

Police arrest man who rammed police vehicle

Boulder police arrested a man who intentionally rammed an officer’s patrol vehicle three times Saturday, according to police.

Robert Saraduke, 62, rammed a Boulder police officer’s vehicle at a gas station in the 4700 block of Baseline Road, according to a news release. The officer was not injured. Around 12:45 a.m. Saturday, two officers in marked vehicles were parked at the gas station when Saraduke pulled up in front of their vehicles in a Saab. According to the release, one of the officers asked Saraduke if he needed help, to which Saraduke didn’t respond but glared at the officers.

The officers backed their vehicles up, and Saraduke drove his car into a police vehicle three times. Saraduke then left his car and approached the officers on foot. The officers attempted to deescalate the situation, according to the release. One of the officers deployed a taser and brought Saraduke to the ground. Saraduke continued to resist but was ultimately taken into custody without injury.

Saraduke was booked on charges of: felony assault, first degree, of a peace officer; obstruction of a peace officer; reckless driving; felony criminal attempt, first degree assault on a peace officer; resisting arrest, creating risk of bodily injury; and misdemeanor menacing.
