SAN JOSE >> Authorities shared surveillance footage Monday of a vehicle they believe to be responsible for a San Jose felony hit-and-run collision that left a bicyclist in the hospital with major injuries in March.

The video can be viewed on the Police Department’s YouTube channel.

Police say the collision happened March 18 around 12:40 a.m. on Park Avenue, just west of Barack Obama Boulevard. A woman on a bicycle was hit from behind and dragged by the vehicle for about 400 feet, causing major injuries that led to a hospital stay.

On Monday, police released video of what they believe to be the suspect vehicle driving at a high rate of speed. The vehicle appears on the footage to be a black SUV or crossover sedan. No license plate is clearly visible.

The vehicle was last seen traveling on San Carlos Street, police say.
