Harris’s 2024 campaign

Re “Californians donating $1 million a day to Harris campaign” (Sep 29):

It is disturbing that many Californians are so blinded by their hatred of Donald Trump and MAGA Republicans that they would not only vote for but donate huge amounts of money to the campaign of such an unvetted, incompetent, inarticulate, economically and geopolitically ignorant, insincere candidate as Kamala Harris. Not since 1930s Germany has there been a political party that has so successfully fostered hatred as the Democratic Party has done by dehumanizing Donald Trump and his supporters. Like the Nazis, they manipulate the news media to spread their propaganda and suppress any opposing free speech. Democrats have been so brainwashed into believing Trump is “a threat to democracy” that they have deluded themselves into thinking nobody else could be worse. We teeter on the brink of World War III and well-meaning Democrats seem oblivious to the danger posed by electing a candidate who is so flawed. Truly scary!

VP Harris makes overdue border appearance

Re “Harris visit’s U.S.-Mexico border, signals tough stance” (Sept. 28):

Well, it took almost four years for our border czar to visit the border. A quick tour without taking any questions during her trip in Arizona. An obvious photo op to give us the impression she will address the issue of border control. Imagine her being in charge and addressing the issues in the same time frame of her addressing one of the few responsibilities she had back in 2020? This is simply embarrassing.

Trump economy

The pundits are so focused on Trump (Sept. 29) possibly increasing tariffs on Chinese and other international imports, they can’t see the forest through the trees. When coupled with lower tax rates, lower gas prices and less regulation as well as more goods being manufactured in the United States to take advantage of the lower corporate tax rates here, any increase in prices from imported goods will be offset by more income and productivity in the United States. The result is more prosperity and jobs in this country versus overseas, which should also result in higher tax revenue to our government.
