Pedestrian dies week after being hit by car

A pedestrian died a week after he was struck by a driver in St. Paul, police said Monday.

Antwone T. Rolfer, 48, was hospitalized in critical condition since the 5:30 p.m. Dec. 14 crash in Dayton’s Bluff.

He died at the hospital Saturday, said Nikki Muehlhausen, a St. Paul police spokeswoman.

The driver, who was from North St. Paul, struck Rolfer in the area of East Seventh and Kittson streets.

The man stayed at the scene, didn’t show signs of impairment and cooperated with police.

The investigation is ongoing.

Arrest made in fatal hit-run on reservation

An arrest has been made in a hit-and-run that killed a woman last week on the Bois Forte Indian Reservation in northern Minnesota.

The arrest was confirmed Friday by the FBI’s office in Minneapolis. No further details about the arrest were immediately available from the agency or Bois Forte tribal law enforcement officials.

The victim was struck Dec. 17 by a vehicle on Lake Vermilion Reservation Road near Fortune Bay Resort and Casino.
