De La Salle has pulled off a few last-inning uprisings in the past.

The Bay Area News Group’s fourth-ranked Spartans did so again Wednesday night, scoring four runs in the top of the seventh to beat No. 1 Serra 5-2 in the consolation bracket of the Boras Classic North in El Dorado Hills.

The Padres were clinging to a 2-1 lead going into the final inning, having scored single runs in the fifth and sixth.

With one out in the De La Salle seventh, Tyler Spangler and Antonio Castro singled. Alec Blair walked to load the bases. A wild pitch plated Spangler, then Nico Baumgartner tripled to center, driving in Castro and Blair. Brandon Vargas then singled to center with the fourth and final run of the inning.

De La Salle (11-3) took a 1-0 lead in the second on a double by Jacob Gray. The Padres (16-4) scored the equalizer in the fifth on a single by Jack Armstrong. A fielder’s choice in the sixth brought in the go-ahead run for Serra.

Cooper Barnes pitched the complete game for De La Salle, He gave up six hits. One of the two runs he gave up was earned.

No. 2 Granada 7, San Ramon Valley 4 >> The host Matadors broke open a tight 3-2 game with four runs in the fifth. Chase Nadeau and Tyler Kennedy accounted for all the runs, Nadeau with a two-run single and Kennedy with a two-run homer to left. Nadeau and Kennedy each drove in a run in Granada’s three-run first.

Winning pitcher Alex Piscotty had 11 strikeouts in five innings while running his record to 6-0. He has an ERA well below 1.00.

Granada (14-3, 7-0) has a two-game lead over De La Salle and Dublin in the East Bay Athletic League standings. SRV is 9-8, 4-3.

No. 7 Los Gatos 10, Palo Alto 7 >> What appeared to be a comfortable lead after five innings turned into a bit of a nail-biter before the Wildcats finally subdued the Vikings. Los Gatos (12-3, 5-0 SCVAL De Anza) led 6-1 thanks to a two-run first inning and a four-run fourth. But the Vikings (5-10, 3-2) jumped on the Los Gatos bullpen for six runs in the final two innings.

Julian McMahon was the hitting star for Los Gatos, going 4-for-4 with two doubles and lifting his batting average to .393.

No. 9 Dublin 1, No. 8 Foothill 0 >> Sophomore Dalton Doyle threw a one-hitter to lead the Gaels to their sixth win in a row. Doyle walked three and struck one while improving his record to 4-0 and lowering his ERA to 0.93. He has allowed 11 hits in 30 innings. The Gaels (16-2, 4-2 EBAL) scored their only run in the home half of the fifth when Matthew Phelps doubled home Ryan Gonzalez.

Ryan Westcott’s single was the only hit for Foothill (13-4, 2-2).

No. 11 Leigh 6, Willow Glen 3 >> The Longhorns remained the lone unbeaten team in BVAL Mt. Hamilton play by building a 5-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning, then holding off a Rams’ comeback. Leigh (13-2, 5-0) has won 13 of 14 since a one-run loss to St. Francis in its season opener. Noah Miller’s RBI double and Justin Jeong’s sacrifice fly in the first got Leigh off to a quick start. The Longhorns added a run in the third to make it 3-0. Marcus Glanville pitched 5? innings for the win, pushing his record to 5-0.

No. 19 Livermore 11, Amador Valley 10 >> The Cowboys scored five runs in the home half of the seventh inning, overcoming a performance in which they made six errors, walked six batters and yielded 14 hits. Tanner Bingham’s single, his only hit of the afternoon, drove in the game-winning run for Livermore, which improved to 4-2 in the EBAL and 12-5 overall.

Livermore trailed 9-4 after five innings before outscoring the visiting Dons 7-1 in their final two frames. The home team unleashed a 17-hit attack against three Amador Valley pitchers.

Griffen Lee led the way, scoring three runs and hitting a two-run homer in the second. He also singled.

St. Mary’s-Stockton 7, No. 12 St. Ignatius 2 >> The Wildcats, who were the last team from the Bay Area playing on the winner’s side of the Boras Classic North tournament, saw their run come to an end Wednesday night. Just four hits and four errors did them in. The game was tight until St. Mary’s (16-4) scored three runs in the fifth, making it 7-2.

Emmett Johnson led the way for St. Ignatius (10-6-2) with a double and RBI.

College Park 5, Liberty-Bakersfield 2 >> Freshman left fielder Jack Carpenter singled three times and drove in his first three runs of the season to lead the Falcons in a consolation round game at the Boras Classic North tournament. The win pushed College Park over .500 for the season at 7-6. Liberty is 8-10. James Voorhies pitched a complete-game seven-hitter and went 2-for-4 at the plate with two runs for the Falcons.

Archbishop Mitty 8, Pleasant Grove-Elk Grove 2 >> The Monarchs bolted to a 6-0 lead with three-run uprisings in the first and third innings in a consolation bracket win at the Boras Classic North tournament. Pleasant Grove never got closer than four runs after that. Sophomore Derek Allen, who plays right field, led the Mitty offense with three RBIs, including a two-run double in the third inning.

Pinole Valley 3, El Cerrito 0 >> Pinole Valley senior Rey Malan limited El Cerrito to one hit and struck out seven in a battle between pennant contenders in the TCAL Rock. Both teams entered the game with 4-0 records in league play.

Softball

No. 1 St. Francis 3, No. 7 Archbishop Mitty 1 >> Sophomore Peyton Tsao broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run homer to center in the top of the sixth to lift the top-ranked Lancers in a West Catholic Athletic League tilt. Jaime Oakland, who was on base with a single, scored ahead of Tsao. St. Francis improved to 17-2 overall and 4-0 in the WCAL. Mitty is 10-5-1, 2-2.

No. 16 James Logan 7, No. 14 Alameda 1 >> Nevaeh Hall-Flores had an inside-the-park homer and two singles in what was an easy victory for the Colts (11-2-1). Aaliyah Soderkund had two hits for the Hornets (8-7-1).

Independence 17, San Jose 6 >> Independence scored in every inning en route to the one-sided win. Both teams were undefeated in BVAL West Valley play entering the contest. Independence was 9-0 and San Jose was 7-0. The 76ers, now 11-3 overall, were led by a pair of freshmen. Laila Morales doubled and homered, and had three RBIs. Julieta Ramirez scored four runs, drove in two and added two hits. She was also the winning pitcher.
