Junior Max Aceves scored a team-high 21 points, and the Watsonville High boys basketball team beat visiting Stevenson 73-42 in the teams’ Pacific Coast Athletic League Mission Division game on Thursday.

Junior Leon Madec scored 15 points for the Wildcatz (7-5, 2-0). Junior Tino Razo added 10 points.

Senior Kekoa Williams had 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Pirates (5-6, 0-1).

Watsonville hosts crosstown foe Monte Vista Christian (6-4, 0-1) on Monday at 7 p.m.

At Pajaro Valley 64, Ceiba 33 >> Senior Anthony Aguirre scored a team-high 16 points, and the Grizzlies won their PCAL Santa Lucia Division game Thursday.

Senior Carlos Escobar scored 11 points for the Grizzlies (3-7, 2-0), who led 33-12 at the half.

Senior Anthony Toriz scored 17 of his team-high 21 points in the second half for the Spartans (0-3, 0-1).

On Monday at 7 p.m., Pajaro Valley plays at York (3-4, 1-0), and Ceiba hosts Kirby (1-7, 0-1).

Rancho San Juan 68, at MVC 54 >> Matteo Vidal made eight free throws and scored 11 points, but the Mustangs lost their PCAL Mission Division game on Thursday.

MVC finished 13-of-30 shooting from the free-throw line.

Ryan Smart and Jerry Arceo Jr. each scored 10 points for the Mustangs (6-4, 0-1), who trailed 56-26 at the half.

Kingston Salviejo made six 3-pointers and scored 24 points for the Trailblazers (8-4, 2-0). Abner Galope made four 3s and scored 17 points, and Andrew Hale scored 15 points.

MVC plays at Watsonville (6-2, 2-0) on Monday at 7 p.m.

At Live Oak 69, San Lorenzo Valley 39 >> Noah Steiger scored a team-high 13 points, but the Cougars saw their nonleague losing skid hit seven in Morgan Hill on Thursday.

Senior guard Ethan Estrada Sanchez scored 24 points for the Acorns (6-8), who led 37-24 at the half. Senior guard Devon DeHaro scored 16 points.

SLV (4-8) hosts Soquel (7-7) in the teams’ Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League opener on Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Watsonville 4, at Palma 3 >> Junior Alexis Castillo-Perez scored twice, and the Wildcatz rallied from two-goal deficit to secure their PCAL Mission Division win Thursday.

Niko Gallegos and Elisco Mora also scored for the Wildcatz (2-2-5, 1-0-1). Damian Amador had an assist.

Watsonville plays at Salinas (3-2-3, 0-1-1) on Monday at 5:45 p.m.

At Pajaro Valley 2, Salinas 2 >> Oscar Lopez and Izaak Ocampo scored for the Grizzlies in their PCAL Mission Division draw Thursday.

Oakwood 1, at St. Francis 0 >> Sophomore goalie Colton Steven made eight saves in the Sharks’ narrow PCAL Santa Lucia Division loss Thursday.

Steven started in place of Brady Stidham, who was sick.
