Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., is voting against H.R. 1, the voting rights bill, because he doesn’t feel it is bringing us together. He is off base. This bill isn’t intended to bring us together, it is intended to protect democracy from Republicans who are passing voting laws formed mainly to restrict voting rights and keep themselves in office. Thanks for nothing, Manchin.
Don’t forget, it didn’t start with the gas chambers. It started with one party controlling the media. One party controlling the message. One party deciding what is the truth. One party censoring speech and silencing opposition. One party dividing citizens into “Us” and “Them” and calling on their supporters to harass the other side. It started when good people turned a blind eye and let it happen.
Who doesn’t want equal voting rights for all Americans? Think about that for a bit. Anyone that thinks that all Americans don’t deserve that right are not true Americans. These people certainly do no belong leading our country.
You can’t blame the education system for some people’s stupidity and ignorance. Teachers can only do so much with students who refuse to apply themselves and parents who refuse to get involved in their children’s education. Remember, it all starts at home. Good parents teach their children before they go to school. The education system is not a magical place that creates miracles.
Will the Trump haters in Quickly ever grow up? They sound like school kids that never grew up.
I have no idea how you can consider the former guy to be a purveyor of facts. Don’t you own a computer with the ability to fact check? Give it a try you, may be enlightened.
While some people think it’s like a magic trick to get the (COVID-19 vaccination) because it makes them feel all cozy inside, there are people like me that don’t want to be anybody’s guinea pig. Deal with it in your own way, and let the rest of us have the same freedom to deal with it in our own way. Your not my boss or my doctor who, by the way, wouldn’t touch it, either, and with only 38% of Hoosiers vaccinated that puts you in the minority.
Praise the Lord that the unemployment bonus ends this week in Indiana and 24 other states. That puts an end to deadbeats turning down job offers just so that they can milk the unemployment. Some will still milk unemployment for the $390 per week just as they have always done in the past, but the numbers will be far less.
It might be more interesting, if it’s even possible, to calculate the COVID-19 fatalities of people who ignored the advice of viral contagion experts and instead followed the advice of Trump, Tucker Carlson and Alex Jones. You know, the medical experts who labeled the virus a hoax and advised Americans to ignore and push back against containment measures, like that deputy out West who died from COVID-19 three weeks after posting anti-vaccination comments. He really showed us, didn’t he?
Regarding the downsizing of Franciscan Health Hammond, people shouldn’t be so upset. Imagine the hardship of those poor, unfortunate people living in the Crown Point area. They are being forced to choose from only TWO Franciscan hospitals with no help. What a nightmare scenario!
I just got done watching a documentary about Cambodia. I think back to junior high school days. There was such a sweet young girl, who barely made eye contact, in my home economics class. I now realize she escaped from the killing fields of Cambodia. I am so sorry I never took the time out to get to know you. This has been on my mind since 1975. Sincerely ashamed of my young self.
The cost of education should never be questioned, considering the alternative of having an ignorant society.
