The Eisenhower Show Choir earned the title of top ensemble from the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) Musical Theatre Solo & Ensemble Festival.

The group received a perfect score for their Nov. 9 performance of “Something About This Night” from Finding Neverland and “Louder Than Words” from tick…tick…BOOM!

“This group supports each other on and off the stage and they make the work seem like fun,” Julia Holt, director of the choir said, in a news release. “I can’t wait to see how they grow throughout this year!”

Adjudicator Greg Cleveland praised their musicality and said that he almost never sees a group with 100% of the students completely engaged and in character.

“I can’t take my eyes off you!” was what he wrote on the adjudication sheet adding that he barely wrote anything down because he was so drawn to their performance.

The Eisenhower Show Choir not only won top honors at this festival but was chosen to perform at the MSVMA All-State Festival on May 8. The group will be singing at the Gala Concert at the Michigan State University’s Fairchild Theatre.
