Cowboys (2-2) at Steelers (3-1)

When: 8:20 p.m. EDT Sunday

TV: NBC

BetMGM NFL odds: Steelers by 2

Series record: Cowboys lead 17-16

Last meeting: Steelers beat Cowboys 24-19 on Nov. 8, 2020.

Last week: Cowboys beat the New York Giants 20-15 in New Jersey. Steelers lost to the Colts 27-24 in Indianapolis.

Cowboys player to watch: QB Dak Prescott is coming off his sixth career game with a completion rate of at least 80% and a passer rating of at least 120. His next one will pass Tony Romo for the most in franchise history. Prescott is fourth in the NFL in yards passing per game at 268 and is getting no help from the NFL’s worst rushing offense. His only other meeting with the Steelers, also on the road, was the eighth of 11 consecutive Dallas victories in 2016, a franchise-record streak for a single season. Prescott was on his way to winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Steelers player to watch: WR George Pickens. The third-year pro is flourishing into one of the NFL’s top targets even without much help from the players behind him on the depth chart. Pickens is ranked in the top 20 in the league in targets (29) and receptions (20) despite drawing heavy interest from opposing defenses each week. It’s a testament to Pickens’ talent, his chemistry with QB Justin Fields and first-year offensive coordinator Arthur Smith’s play design that Pickens is finding favorable matchups and open space to work on a weekly basis.

Key matchup: Pittsburgh’s offensive line vs. Dallas’ defensive front. The Steelers have one of the league’s youngest lines, even with veteran left guard Isaac Seumalo expected to return after missing a month with a pectoral injury. The right side of the line features rookie center Zach Frazier, rookie guard Mason McCormick and second-year tackle Broderick Jones, who has endured a roller coaster opening month.

Last week: Jets lost to Broncos 10-9; Vikings beat Packers 31-29.

Jets player to watch

Key matchup: Vikings WR Justin Jefferson vs. Jets CB Sauce Gardner. While the Vikings will move Jefferson all over their formations to try to maximize his opportunity and the Jets will certainly rely on more than one player to defend perhaps the league’s premier pass catcher, anytime there’s a one-on-one situation between these stars it ought to be worth rewinding the DVR for another look. Jefferson had seven receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets two years ago against the Jets.

Stats & stuff: The game marks the third time the Jets will play in London and their first since a 27-20 loss to Atlanta in 2021, which was also played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Last week: Panthers lost 34-24 to Cincinnati; Bears beat Los Angeles Rams 24-18.

Key matchup: Bears WR DJ Moore against Carolina’s secondary. The Bears need Moore and Williams to get in sync at some point, and this wouldn’t be a bad week to do it. After all, Moore set a career high with 1,364 yards last season after getting traded from Carolina to Chicago. He’s well off that pace so far, with just 189 yards through four games. Moore caught five passes for 58 yards last year against the Panthers.

Key matchup: Patriots OL vs. Dolphins D: With C David Andrews headed for shoulder surgery, New England will start its fifth offensive line in five games. The Patriots allowed 13 sacks over the previous two games, and one reason No. 3 overall draft pick Drake Maye remains on the sideline is because it isn’t safe to put him in. The Miami defense is fifth in passing defense.

Series notes: Miami swept the series for the 15th time last year and has won six of the past seven games. ... The Dolphins are 6-2 against the Patriots since Tom Brady left New England. Against him, they were 12-24, but the 12 wins was the most by any team.

Last week: Browns lost to Raiders 20-16; Commanders beat Cardinals 42-14.

Key matchup: Commanders pass rush vs. the Browns offensive line and Deshaun Watson. As good as Daniels and Washington’s offense has been, the defense struggled until last week at Arizona. One of the big issues has been a lack of pressure, which has made a pieced-together secondary struggle more in coverage. Watson has been sacked a league-high 19 times this season, and he needs to get rid of the ball quicker. He may have more time to throw Sunday than in previous games.

Series notes: The Browns have won the past two meetings after dropping three in a row. ... Washington is just 5-17-1 at home against Cleveland. ... The Browns have lost two in a row. This is their second of three consecutive road games. ... Washington is 3-1 for the first time since 2011.
