WSB, a Golden Valley-based design and consulting firm, announced that its Mississippi Gateway Regional Park project has received a 2026 Merit Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects Minnesota Chapter. The award recognizes the collaborative work completed for Three Rivers Park District and the City of Brooklyn Park, honoring landscape architecture within the General Design category.

DEVELOPMENT

Opus, a Minneapolis-based national commercial real estate developer, announced the promotions of Pete Conlon to chief financial officer and head of capital markets and Su O’Sullivan to executive vice president of accounting, effective May 4. Conlon was previously executive vice president of capital markets; O’Sullivan has a 27-year tenure with Opus, most recently as vice president of accounting.

Deluxe, a Minneapolis-based financial services and data company, announced the election of Paul R. Garcia as the independent chair of its board of directors. He succeeds Cheryl Mayberry McKissack, who announced her retirement earlier this year. Garcia is the retired chairman and CEO of Global Payments Inc. He has been on the Deluxe board since 2020. … KLC Financial, a Minnetonka-based provider of equipment lease and purchase financing for business, announced the promotions of Allen Glynn and Lesley Farmer to business development team leads. Both have spent more than 20 years with the company.

HEALTH CARE

Children’s Minnesota, a Twin Cities-based chain of hospitals and clinics focused on pediatric care, announced the appointment of John Harding as executive vice president, chief operating officer, effective April 27. Harding most recently served as COO at Riley Children’s Health. … Ecumen, a Shoreview-based nonprofit provider of housing and services for older adults, announced Karen Flores as senior vice president and chief people officer, effective May 4. Flores holds an MBA from the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management and completed executive development through the McKinsey Management Accelerator.

HONORS

The Cultural Wellness Center, a Minneapolis community-based organization that promotes health, healing and community building focusing on people of African descent, has presented former state Sen. Jeff Hayden with its annual People’s Advocate Award for his leadership and efforts to educate and inform community actions. Hayden served 12 years as a three-term state senator and two-term state representative, representing Minneapolis. The announcement was made by Fredrikson Government Relations, a St. Paul-based lobbying group affiliated with the Fredrikson law firm.

LAW

Fredrikson, Minneapolis, announced that attorney Sydney Koehler has joined the firm’s Trusts & Estates Group. … Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Services, St. Paul, announced the retirement in March of Laura Melnick after almost 38 years of service. Melnick was lead attorney for economic justice in the Twin Cities region.

MANUFACTURING

Winnebago Industries, an Eden Prairie-based maker of large recreational vehicles, motorhomes and watercraft, announced the appointment of Emily Silver to its board of directors, effective May 1. Silver is senior vice president, chief marketing, e-commerce and athlete experience officer for Dick’s Sporting Goods.

MEDIA

The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal announced that Editor-in-Chief Dirk DeYoung plans to retire Aug. 6. DeYoung joined the publication in 1995 as a researcher. He assumed the editor-in-chief role in 1999.

RETAIL

Evereve, an Edina-based national women’s fashion retailer, announced the appointments of Tammy Redpath as chief marketing officer, and Jocelyn Miller as chief people officer. Both Miller and Redpath join the company after separate careers at Target Corp.

SPORTS

National Hockey League franchise Minnesota Wild, St. Paul, announced it has named Maria Troje president and alternate governor of its Iowa Wild minor-league affiliate in the American Hockey League. The team also announced Minnesota Wild Assistant General Manager Michael Murray will serve as governor of the Iowa Wild and Iowa Wild Vice President of Business Operations Allie Korinek and Iowa Wild General Manager Matt Hendricks will serve as alternate governors for the franchise.
