Resident of Mesquite, NV Jean Ann Gaudin, age 94, passed away March 4, 2025, in Mesquite, NV surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was born September 29, 1930, in Omaha, Nebraska to Gerald V and Margaret M (nee Howard) Waples. She grew up in Oakland, CA where she graduated from St Elizabeth High School. After graduation she enlisted in the US Marine Corps, serving at Treasure Island Naval Station until meeting and marrying her husband, Glen E Gaudin in 1951. Moving to San Leandro, she lived afull and active life with Glen and their four daughters. Her family enjoyed camping, bowling and long summer trips to visit family in Louisiana where Glen was born.

Jean worked many jobs throughout her life including Airport Auto Movies, collection agencies and retired from the water department at the City of Hayward. After retiring she loved cruising, bowling, volunteering at Kaiser Hospital and joined a walking group where she experienced many new adventures in the surrounding Bay Area, including participating in the Bay to Breakers several times.

Jean is survived by daughters Cynthia Fernandez (Robert) of Arizona, Denise Stemel and Jeanette Kennedy of Mesquite; grandchildren Sid Fernandez, Janine Freeman, Sandra McClard (Brad), Theresa Wood and Glen Fernandez (Jayson); great-grandchildren Alex, Robert, Isabelle, Miranda, Daniel, Jacob and Matthew; great-great-granddaughter Natalie Jean; sister Marilyn McLaughlin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews that she treasured deeply. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Yvonne Wood, her brother Howard Waples and sister Zoe Cogley.

A memorial ceremony will be held at a later date at Holy Sepulchre in Hayward, CA. Family and friends will be welcome to attend at that time.
