UCLA update: The No. 5-seeded Bruins, after Friday’s 69-65 come-from-behind, upset win over No. 1 Stanford, are in the Pac-12 Tournament final for the first time since the 2020-21 season. In getting to the title game, UCLA also defeated Arizona State and Arizona. Now it’s one more victory away from a guaranteed berth in the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins and Cougars split their season series — UCLA losing at home 62-55 on Feb. 23 and winning on the road 73-66 on Jan. 22.

Washington State update: The tournament has been upset-filled, headed by the No. 7-seeded Cougars, who punched their first ticket to the Pac-12 final with Friday’s 61-49 victory over No. 3 Colorado. WSU’s win tied the tournament record for upsets with six, matched back in 2014. WSU is playing its best basketball of the season at the best possible time. The Cougars have won six of their last seven games. Their 22 wins is a school single-season record, breaking a mark that stood for 44 seasons.
