The Kings brought in six NBA prospects for their first pre-draft workout Monday at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.
The group featured Texas Tech star Darrion Williams, a Sacramento native who spent two years at Capital Christian High School before going to Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.
The other players who participated in Monday’s workout were Missouri guard Tamar Bates, Florida center Rueben Chinyelu, Georgia guard Silas Demary, Villanova guard Wooga Poplar and Kentucky center Amari Williams.
Darrion Williams is a 6-foot-6, 225-pound small forward who is projected as a second-round pick in the draft, which will be held June 25-26. The Athletic currently has him going to the Toronto Raptors at No. 39. Yahoo Sports has him going to the Golden State Warriors at No. 41. Tankathon has him going to the Milwaukee Bucks at No. 47.
Williams is one of 75 players who have been invited to the NBA Combine, which will be held May 11-18 in Chicago. He is represented by agent Maurice Johnson and PNW Sports Group, the same agency that represents Memphis Grizzlies forward and former Folsom High School star Jaylen Wells, who recently finished third in Rookie of the Year voting.
Sacramento’s top-12 protected first-round pick will likely be conveyed to the Atlanta Hawks to complete the 2022 trade for Kevin Huerter, but the Kings will have the 42nd overall pick in the second round.
