Robert Lee Proctor, 84, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025. Born on September 21, 1940, in Joplin, Missouri, Bob lived a life defined by his dedication to family, faith, and community.

Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from Occidental College and a master’s degree at the University of Southern California.

A gifted athlete, Bob played professional baseball with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. His passion for the game extended beyond his own playing days—he later became a devoted youth baseball coach in the San Gabriel Valley. Through years of volunteer coaching, he mentored countless young men, teaching them not only athletic skills but also the values of teamwork, perseverance, and integrity.

After his time in professional sports, Bob worked as the Human Resources Director for several companies, including Paramount Studios.

Bob’s passions were many. He was an avid golfer, finding joy on the greens. A talented photographer and artist, he captured beauty both through his lens and with brushstrokes. Bob was also an active supporter of the Urban League and frequent Altadena Home Tour volunteer.

Above all, Bob cherished his family and his faith. He loved Jesus deeply and was an active member of his church community.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons Craig and Murph; daughters-in-law Kim and Kelly; grandsons Reese, Ryan, and Rory Joshua; his brother Steve; and sister-in-law Patty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Ruby Proctor.
