Division 3
San Dimas (19-10) vs. Glendora (22-10) at Cal State Fullerton, 4 p.m.
There is excitement in the SGV with two of the area’s top programs meeting for a championship. Glendora is looking for the school’s first title since winning its only crown in 2010. San Dimas will be looking for its third championship, first since 2009. The Tartans advanced in the playoffs with strong pitching over the first three rounds. They allowed just three runs total before beating Temecula Valley 7-5 in the semifinals. The Tartans have a team ERA of 2.39, led by senior Brayden Johnson, who is 9-2 with a 1.81 ERA. Johnson threw four innings in Tuesday’s win and will be available for a few innings. Aaron Jacobsen, Mason Danison and Jackson Glaze lead the Tartans’ offensive production. The Saints boast arguably the best player in senior Vaughn Coleman, who belted a grand slam in their 5-0 quarterfinal win over Paraclete. Coleman leads the team with a .315 average to go with 22 RBIs and three homers. Freshman pitcher Dean Brosterhouse gave up only three hits in 5 1/3 innings in the Saints’ 4-1 semifinal win over Beckman. Sophomore James Rocha, who is 6-4 with a 1.89 ERA, is likely to get the start.
Division 4
Ganesha (22-3) vs. Dos Pueblos (22-10) at Blair Field, Long Beach, 4 p.m.
Ganesha brings a 19-game winning streak into the championship and is looking for its second title in three years. It won the Division 7 title in 2023. The Giants’ offense came alive in their 11-1 victory over South Torrance in the semifinals. Isiaiah Ibarra was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and two runs scored and Bryant Loo had two hits and three RBIs.
Division 6
Marshall (20-6-1) vs. Estancia (19-13), Cal State Fullerton, 1 p.m.
Marshall’s only trip to the CIF-SS finals was in 2019. Senior Caleb Thatcher has been a workhorse for the Eagles. He has thrown two shutouts in the playoffs and in a 4-3 semifinal victory over Heritage Christian, he closed the seventh inning. Junior Sawyer Atkinson leads the team with a .418 average to go with 25 RBIs. Sean Sweeney and Nico Viramontes also have been big offensive contributors.
Division 8
Pioneer (17-12) vs. Fillmore (13-17) at Blair Field, Long Beach, 10 a.m.
The senior-laden Titans are making their first trip to a championship game after beating Placentia Valencia 3-1 in the semifinals. The Titans finished fifth in the 605 League and needed an at-large berth to make the playoffs. They coasted through their first three playoff games, beating Cal Baptist (5-0), Hesperia Christian (14-8) and Beverly Hills (12-1).
Division 9
Mountain View (15-11) vs. Nuview Bridge (16-10) at Cal State Fullerton, 10 a.m.
The Eagles have reached the school’s first title game. Sophomore Adam Alcantar threw a three-hit shutout in the semifinals and the Vikings have allowed just two runs in three playoff games. The Vikings were awarded a forfeit by Shalhevet in the second round. Juniors Ryan Molinar and Luke Davila lead the Vikings with 19 RBIs. Junior Alex Moreno threw a complete game in a 4-1 quarterfinal win over Pomona, allowing just four hits with six strikeouts. Moreno will likely start in the championship game.
