Stanley D. Williams II, age 75, passed away on August 26, 2024 of cardiac arrest, following a long battle with heart disease and vascular dementia. Stan was born in Indiana to Stanley Sr. and Gloria Williams, soon after moving to Detroit, Michigan where he was raised with his three younger siblings. He was a brave and precocious child who was the first to integrate his elementary school. He was a scholar athlete, graduating from Salesian High School in Detroit and going on to attend the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He transferred to Wayne State University in Detroit, graduating from Wayne State University School of Medicine in 1974.

When Stan visited California to interview for internships, he fell in love with the state and never considered leaving. Stan completed an internship at LA County-USC Medical Center and afterwards entered the field of Emergency Medicine. To further his education, he also completed an Internal Medicine Residency at UC, Irvine in 1987. Stan loved the field of Emergency Medicine and for over 45 years, worked for a number of ER Groups, including hospitals in Long Beach, LA and the surrounding areas, touching many lives through his dedicated work.

He was very proud of his work as an ER doctor and received many accolades and awards for teaching and inspiring residents that rotated through the Emergency Room.

Even after his passing, he continues to help the advancement of medicine through his enrollment in the UCI School of Medicine Willed Body Program. Stan met Patricia Randolph in 1984 and became a devoted husband and family man.

He loved being “Pops” to his son Anthony Randolph, instilling in him a great love for sports and adventure. He moved with his family to Long Beach from Marina del Rey in 1998. He had an adventurous spirit, living life to the fullest and always “taking the road less traveled.” He truly enjoyed spending time with family.

Stan had a passion for skiing, biking and playing basketball. All who knew him also knew ofhis love and deep devotion to the family’s beloved dogs, as he was often seen walking them in the neighborhood.

Stan is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; son, Anthony; daughter in law, Lauren; two granddaughters; brother, Timothy and sister in law, Marshell, sister in-law, Nancy Randolph-Allen, and many other relatives and friends. Stan was preceded in death by his cherished parents; brother, Kevin; sister, Vivian and all of his beloved dogs.

Stan will be forever missed. Private family services will be held at the Long Beach home that he loved. In honor of Stan and in accordance with his wishes, please hug someone you love.
