Twenty-six runners from the Boulder, Broomfield and Longmont areas were named to the Colorado High School Activities Association’s all-state girls cross country team.

Two made first team — Niwot’s Addy Ritzenhein, who won the Class 5A state title in an all-classification record time of 16 minutes and 54.62 seconds, and Silver Creek’s Cloe Ruth, who took second in 4A.

On second teams were Fairview’s Sierra Wall (14th at state) in 5A; Holy Family’s Anabella Descalzo (eighth), Silver Creek’s Megan Bader (10th) and Mead’s Ava Mierau (11th) in 4A; and Nederland’s Amika Begin (ninth) in 2A.

Nineteen local girls were honorable mentions.

Boulder led the way with four girls in 5A — Sophia Africa, Anika Leovy, Rachel Tilton and Calia Vaughn. Holy Family had three more to go along with Descalzo in 4A — Liberty Ley, MacKenzie McIntosh and Lilly Seibel.

Niwot, Erie, Jefferson Academy and Prospect Ridge Academy each had two HMs. In 5A, Elise Hagen and Anna Prok made it for the Cougars, while Sabina Stroia and Vanicia Thomas were named for the Tigers. In 3A, Leyna Gibson and Kennedy Stadler made it for JA, and Emily Jones and Sarah Sellers were named for the Miners.

Other honorable mentions included Mead’s Marni Martin in 4A; Peak to Peak’s Skye Williams in 3A; and Lyons’ Leah Shelton and Nederland’s Abigail Hess in 2A.
