No. 2 South Carolina cruises past No. 19 Alabama 76-58

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. >> Joyce Edwards scored 21 points to lead No. 2 South Carolina past No. 19 Alabama 76-58 on Thursday night.

Chloe Kitts had 10 points and 13 rebounds, Milay Fulwiley scored 16 points and Te-Hina Paopao added 11 for the Gamecocks, who have six straight wins over ranked opponents.

Zaay Green and Essence Cody each scored 15 points and Aaliyah Nye had 12 for Alabama (16-3, 3-2).

No. 3 Notre Dame 81, No. 17 Georgia Tech 66>> Sonia Citron scored 21 points, Maddy Westbeld had 20 and No. 3 Notre Dame surged in the second half to beat No. 17 Georgia Tech 81-66.

All-American Hannah Hidalgo missed her second game for Notre Dame with an ankle injury.

Citron shot 9 for 13 and Westbeld was 8 of 11 as Notre Dame hit 55% of its shots compared to 38% for Georgia Tech.

No. 7 Texas 74, Auburn 57>> Madison Booker scored 22 points and No. 7 Texas bounced back from a loss at second-ranked South Carolina, beating Auburn 74-57.

Booker, who was held to seven points in Sunday’s loss to the Gamecocks, missed just one shot in the first half for the Longhorns.

Rori Harmon added 20 points and Taylor Jones scored 15 for Texas, which shot 50% from 3-point range and 87% from the free-throw line.

No. 9 Ohio State 80, Wisconsin 69>> Jaloni Cambridge scored 27 points and Chance Gray added 22 to help No. 9 Ohio State beat Wisconsin 80-69.

Cambridge, who entered averaging 14.5 points, shot 11 of 16 from the field and added a career-high eight rebounds.

Cotie McMahon added 17 points for the Buckeyes, who are off to their best start since winning their first 19 games in 2022-23.

No. 11 Kansas State 62, Arizona 47>> Serena Sundell scored 16 points to surpass 1,500 for her career and dished eight assists and No. 11 Kansas State pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 62-47 win over Arizona in the first-ever meeting.

Temira Poindexter added 14 points for Kansas State, including a pair of 3-pointers in a 10-0 run to open the fourth that gave Kansas State a 57-41 lead.

No. 13 Oklahoma 80, Missouri 63>> Payton Verhulst scored a career-high 38 points and made six 3-pointers to help No. 13 Oklahoma beat Missouri 80-63.

Verhulst tied Phylesha Whaley for fifth on Oklahoma’s single-game scoring list, trailing Madi Williams’ program record of 45 against West Virginia on Jan. 3, 2021.

Verhulst scored 18 points in the opening five minutes of the third quarter. She started the second half with a personal 9-0 run to give her 24 of Oklahoma’s 48 points, while Missouri had 32.

No. 15 Tennessee 86, Mississippi State 73 >> Ruby Whitehorn scored 20 points, Talaysia Cooper had a double-double and No. 15 Tennessee turned back Mississippi State 86-73 on Thursday night.

Samara Spencer scored 18 points and Jewel Spear had 13 for the Lady Vols with both hitting four 3-pointers. Cooper had 16 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists and three steals.

No. 16 Duke 72, No. 18 Cal 38>> Freshman star Toby Fournier scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds off the bench to help turn a Top 25 showdown into a blowout as No. 16 Duke beat No. 18 California 72-38.

A 16-2 start to the second quarter gave Duke a 22-point lead and a 13-0 run in the third made it 59-25.

Minnesota upsets No. 20 Michigan in OT

MINNEAPOLIS >> Dawson Garcia made a 3-pointer from the near edge of the center-court logo to give Minnesota an 84-81 overtime victory over No. 20 Michigan on Thursday.

Wolverines tied it on Danny Wolf’s driving layup with sevenseconds to play. But the Gophers had time to bring the ball upcourt, where Lu’Cye Patterson found Garcia for the winner from the “M” logo. The jumper gave coach Ben Johnson his first career victory over a ranked team.

TEMPLE 88, NO. 18 MEMPHIS 81>> Jamal Mashburn Jr. scored 21 points, Quante Berry added 19 and Temple upset No. 18 Memphis.

Shane Dezonie added 15 points for the Owls, who had lost six in a row to the Tigers.

PJ Haggerty scored 21 for Memphis, which was trying to improve to 4-0 in the conference for the first time since 2013.
