Alexander leads Boston University to 93-91 OT win against Colgate

BOSTON >> Kyrone Alexander scored 21 points to lead Boston University, including the game-winning jump shot with six seconds remaining in double, and the Terriers beat Colgate 93-91 on Saturday.

Alexander had seven rebounds for the Terriers (13-14, 7-7 Patriot League). Ben Defty scored 15 points while going 4 of 6 and 7 of 7 from the free-throw line and added seven rebounds and four blocks. Nic Nobili shot 5 of 6 from the field and 2 of 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points, while adding seven rebounds.

Jalen Cox led the Raiders (11-16, 8-6) in scoring, finishing with 25 points and three steals. Jeff Woodward added 20 points and nine rebounds for Colgate. Nicolas Louis-Jacques also had 16 points and two steals.

These same teams will meet again next Saturday.

Jayden Taylor scores 19 points to lead N.C. State’s 70-62 win over Boston College

RALEIGH, N.C. >> Jayden Taylor scored 19 points, Brandon Huntley-Hatfield added 11 and N.C. State defeated Boston College 70-62 on Saturday to snap a nine-game losing streak.

The Wolfpack (10-15, 3-11) climbed out of a tie for last place in the Atlantic Coast Conference, leaving Boston College (10-15, 2-12) tied with Miami at the bottom. The Eagles have lost four straight and 10 of 11.

Donald Hand Jr. scored 22 points and Chad Venning 14 for Boston College. Reserve Chas Kelley III scored 10. The Eagles were 17-for-48 shooting (35%).

The Wolfpack shot 39%. With only five turnovers, they had a 15-3 advantage in points after turnovers.

Moore scores 15 and St. Bonaventure downs UMass 73-59

AMHERST, Mass. >> Chance Moore’s 15 points off of the bench helped St. Bonaventure to a 73-59 victory against UMass on Saturday.

Moore added 10 rebounds and three steals for the Bonnies (18-9, 6-8 Atlantic 10 Conference). Lajae Jones scored 14 points, shooting 3 of 5 from the field and 8 for 9 from the line. Noel Brown finished 6 of 8 from the floor to finish with 12 points, while adding seven rebounds.

Tarique Foster finished with 14 points and three steals for the Minutemen (11-15, 6-7). UMass also got 13 points from Rahsool Diggins. Daniel Rivera also had 11 points and seven rebounds.

St. Bonaventure took the lead with 9:23 remaining in the first half and did not give it up. The score was 39-26 at halftime, with Jones racking up seven points. St. Bonaventure extended its lead to 54-34 during the second half, fueled by an 11-2 scoring run. Moore scored a team-high eight points in the second half as their team closed out the win.

Pissis has 21 with game-winning 3, New Hampshire defeats UMass-Lowell 80-79

DURHAM, N.H. >> Sami Pissis drilled a 3-pointer from the left wing as time expired and scored 21 points as New Hampshire beat UMass-Lowell 80-79 on Saturday.

Pissis also contributed six assists for the Wildcats (7-20, 5-7 America East Conference). Anthony McComb III scored 16 points while shooting 7 for 13, including 0 for 3 from beyond the arc. Khalil Badru shot 5 for 8 (2 for 3 from 3-point range) and 1 of 3 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points.

Quinton Mincey led the way for the River Hawks (15-11, 4-7) with 23 points. Max Brooks added 20 points for UMass-Lowell. Cam Morris III also recorded 15 points, six rebounds, four steals and two blocks.
