Mocktails are not always easy to find on menus in the Inland Empire. But some bars and restaurants that serve cocktails offer at least two or three nonalcoholic concoctions with come-hither names and selfie potential. They’re made with fruit juices, sodas and garnishes. The Overland in Redlands and 1909 in Temecula use nonalcoholic liquors as well.

We tried mocktails in four places where people gather in Riverside and San Bernardino counties. Here is what we found.

1909

The restaurant uses nonalcoholic spirits from Seedlip in two mocktails, I Beg Your Garden and Like a Virgin. Both cost $8.

Food menus include not only brunch and dinner but a late-night brunch Fridays and Saturdays. Prices range from $7 for snacks to $42 for rib-eye steak.

The Cut

The Cut calls itself a modern American eatery and bar specializing in steaks, $42-$75, and burgers, $40-$42. It also has a location in Irvine.

Mocktails are not broken out on the menu, but there are a few $8 options, including a Pineapple Passion Fruit Mule, made with ginger beer; Blueberry Lavender Lemonade; and Guava-Nada, served with a Tajin and chamoy rim.

The Lobby Cocktail Lounge & Kitchen

The Lobby is one of several watering holes on Riverside’s Main Street Pedestrian Mall. It does nonalcoholic versions of two of its signature cocktails, Cloud 9 and Captain Planet, both $12.

Its kitchen serves burgers, salads and mains such as short rib mac and cheese in the $20 range.

The Overland

The Overland in downtown Redlands opened in April 2023 at the city’s 1910 Santa Fe Depot with mocktails prominently featured on its menu.

It currently serves five at $12 each, including Immortal Fix, made with nonalcoholic gin, pineapple, lemon and orange; The Paradise, made with nonalcoholic bourbon, bittersweet aperitivo, raspberry and lemon; and Queen’s Highway, made with nonalcoholic tequila, beets, pineapple and orange.

The food menu ranges from snacks such as bar nuts, $8, to New York strip steak, $38.
