Tyeree Bryan made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 35 points to help Santa Clara upset No. 16 Gonzaga 103-99 on Saturday night in Spokane, Washington.

Adama Ball added 20 points, and Christoph Tilly had 17 to lead the Broncos (13-7, 5-2 West Coast Conference) to their first true road win over a top-25 team since Dec. 4, 1993.

After scoring 54 points in a loss to Loyola Marymount, the Broncos put up 103 points to beat the Bulldogs, who lost for the first time this season at McCarthey Athletic Center.

Coming off an overtime loss Thursday night at Oregon State, Gonzaga (14-6, 5-2) has lost consecutive conference games for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Nolan Hickman led Gonzaga with 24 points, hitting six 3-pointers. Graham Ike scored 21 points, and Ryan Nembhard had 16 points and 15 assists.

The Broncos made a season-high 18 3-pointers — the second-most in school history and the most ever allowed by Gonzaga in Spokane — on 47.4% shooting from deep.They pulled ahead with an 11-1 run late in the half. However, Hickman responded with seven points in the final five minutes to give Gonzaga a 45-44 lead.

An early second-half surge propelled Santa Clara in front, with Bryan and Bal combining to hit five 3-pointers in the first seven minutes. The shots kept falling for the Broncos, who were ahead by 13 points with just over four minutes to play.

Bryan’s 35 points matched the second-most an opposing player has ever scored inside McCarthey Athletic Center and were the most by a Bronco since Brandin Podziemski (38 on Jan. 25, 2023).

USF 81, Oregon State 70 >> Malik Thomas had 24 points, Marcus Williams added 21 and the host Dons earned a win against the Beavers on Saturday night.

In a shooting display, the Dons (16-5, 6-2 West Coast Conference) connected on 60% of their attempts from the field, including 13 of 22 from 3, and didn’t relinquish the lead after going ahead for good with 8:05 left in the first half.

Thomas shot 8 for 11 (4 for 6 from 3-point range) and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line, while Williams shot 8 for 12, including 4 for 5 from beyond the arc to go with five assists. Tyrone Riley IV shot 4 of 5 from the field, including 3 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 4 for 6 from the line to finish with 15 points.

Saint Mary’s 74, Pepperdine 50 >> Luke Barrett had 14 points and seven rebounds to help the visiting Gaels beat the Waves on Saturday night for St. Mary’s sixth win in a row.

Mitchell Saxen scored 13 points and added six rebounds for the Gaels (16-3, 6-0 West Coast Conference), who took the lead about 9 minutes into the game and did not give it up. Jordan Ross went 5 of 8 from the field (3 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 13 points.

Women

Cal 67, Wake Forest 55 >> Marta Suarez scored 16 points with nine rebounds, Ioanna Krimili and Lulu Twidale each hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points apiece on Sunday and the No. 18 Bears defeated the host Demon Deacons.

Krimili scored Cal’s first eight points in a 10-2 run that made it 23-19 to give the Golden Bears their first lead almost 4 minutes into the second quarter and they led the rest of the way. Twidale made two 3s before Krimili hit another — her third of the period — to make it 32-24 at the intermission.

Cal shot 49% from the field, made 10 of 24 from 3-point range and outrebounded Wake Forest 45-26.

The Demon Deacons scored eight of the game’s first 10 points as Cal missed its first five field-goal attempts.

The Bears (16-3, 4-2 ACC) had their three-game win streak snapped last time out with a 72-38 loss at No. 16 Duke — Cal’s lowest scoring output since scoring 33 in a 39-point loss to then-No. 4 Stanford on Feb. 28, 2021.

Wake Forest (7-11, 0-7) has lost six games in a row overall and eight straight in conference play.

Cal wraps up a three-game road trip on Thursday at Stanford, which the Bears beat 83-63 at home in the conference opener. Wake Forest also plays Thursday, at No. 14 North Carolina.

Duke 74, Stanford 49 >> The visiting Cardinal were held to their lowest point total of the season in a loss Sunday to the No. 16 Blue Devils in the first meeting between the schools as ACC rivals.

Duke forced 20 Stanford turnovers, turning them into 25 points. The Blue Devils led by as many as 25 points.

Nunu Agara scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the Cardinal (10-8, 2-5) but was the lone Stanford player to reach double-figures. Stanford was held to 18-of-55 shooting from the field, including just 4 of 9 from beyond the arc.
