Reynolds’ double-double leads UNC past Air Force
GREELEY>> Langston Reynolds scored 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to help Northern Colorado defeat Air Force 81-76 on Monday night.
Zack Bloch went 5 of 6 from the field (3 for 4 from 3-point range) and scored 15 for the Bears (7-5). Brock Wisne had 10 points and shot 5 of 6 from the field.
Kyle Marshall led the Falcons (3-8) with 23 points. Wesley Celichowski added 12 points and Caleb Walker scored 10.

South Carolina, UCLA, Duke and Texas will play in a round-robin tournament in Las Vegas next year during Thanksgiving week.
The Players Era Women’s Championship will allow the opportunity for athletes on each team to engage in at least $1 million of NIL activities with the title group and sponsors. The event will coincide with the the men’s Players Era Festival that debuted at MGM Grand Garden Arena this year.

Longtime Auburn team pastor dies in an accident
ALEXANDER CITY, Ala.>> The longtime pastor of the Auburn University football team has died after falling into the water on Lake Martin in central Alabama.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the accident occurred Sunday evening. Officials say the Rev. Chette L. Williams fell into the water from his pontoon boat.

Vermont claims program’s first national championship
CARY, N.C.>> Maximilian Kissel scored in a sudden-death overtime to help Vermont beat Marshall 2-1 on Monday night for the program’s first national championship.
Vermont (16-2-6) became the first squad in school history to win a national championship in a team sport — with the skiing program winning six national championships.
The Catamounts ended the University of Denver’s season Friday night in the College Cup semifinals. Vermont beat the Pioneers on penalty kicks, 4-3.
Van Arsdale, part of original Phoenix Suns in 1968, dies
PHOENIX>> Dick Van Arsdale, a three-time All-Star who became the first Phoenix Suns player after being selected by the franchise in the 1968 expansion draft, has died. He was 81.
The 6-foot-5 Van Arsdale played his first three NBA seasons with the New York Knicks before being selected by the Suns in the expansion draft.
Embiid’s sinus fracture ‘not nearly as severe’ as previous 2 facial fractures
CHARLOTTE, N.C.>> Philadelphia 76ers coach Nick Nurse expressed optimism about Joel Embiid’s return to action, saying his recent sinus fracture is “not nearly as severe” as the two previous facial fractures the 2023 NBA Most Valuable Player sustained during his career.
Embiid was injured in the first half of Friday night’s 121-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers when he was hit in the face while going for a defensive rebound. The 76ers said Embiid will be reevaluated in one week.
