The Santa Cruz Warriors, the NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, acquired the returning player rights to 6-foot-7 forward Kevin Knox II and 6-9 forward Aaron Wheeler in a three-team trade with the Rip City Remix and Westchester Knicks on Wednesday.

Santa Cruz traded the returning player rights to Donovan Williams to Westchester and the returning player rights to Hyunjung Lee and their second-round pick in the 2025 NBA G League draft to Rip City.

Knox, a six-year NBA veteran out of the University of Kentucky, averaged 22.6 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 33.1 minutes in 11 starts for Rip City last season.

He has appeared in 306 NBA games (77 starts) for the New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, and Portland Trail Blazers. The 25-year-old holds NBA career averages of 7.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists in 18.0 minutes per game.

Wheeler averaged 6.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 20.5 minutes in 40 games with the G League’s Greensboro Swarm and Windy City Bulls in 2022-23. He has also played internationally in Mexico, Slovakia, and France.

Wheeler started his collegiate career at Purdue (2018-21) and ended it at St. John’s University (2021-22). He enjoyed career-high averages of 10.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists as a senior.

Santa Cruz 25, Harbor 19 >> Dahlia Montesinos threw two touchdown passes to Charlotte Gill and one to Emunah Minami in the Cardinals’ SCCAL win Wednesday.

Ben Sommerville ran for a touchdown. Minami and Julia Kennedy each recorded an interception.

Scotts Valley 46, San Lorenzo Valley 0 >> Quarterback Jazzy Philips threw six touchdowns in the Falcons’ SCCAL win Wednesday.

Sammy Rebbert made three touchdown receptions, Claire Skinner made two, and Lilly Rittenhouse also hauled in a scoring pass.

Brooklyn Williams scored three extra points, and Jazzy Duebek and Natalia Laploll each made an interception.

Scotts Valley (6-2) plays Santa Cruz at Aptos High on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Watsonville 14, at Salinas 0 >> Freshman Isabella Alvarez made contributions all over the field as Wildcatz won for the sixth time in their past seven games.

Alvarez hauled in a touchdown pass from Fernanda Lazo, rushed for more than 85 yards, and returned oneof her two interceptions for a score. She led the defense with eight flag pulls.

Brianna Leon had five flag pulls.

Watsonville (9-13, 8-6) awaits placement in the PCAL Tournament.

Girls volleyball

Scotts Valley 3, SLV 0 >> Senior outside hitter Ava Morrison had 12 kills and five aces in the Falcons’ 25-20, 25-21, 26-24 sweep in SCCAL action Wednesday.

Junior outside hitter Rylee Giesen had 10 kills for the Falcons.

Women’s soccer

UCSC 2, at Dominican 0 >> Camille Anneet and Tatiana Fernandez scored for the Banana Slugs in their win in San Rafael on Wednesday.

Anneet blasted in a shot from 21 yards out after it was punched out by the Penguins’ goalie on a corner kick in the 16th minute. It was her fifth goal of the season.

Amanda Scott and Sydney Boyd earned assists on Fernandez’s third goal of the season, which came in the 49th minute.

Goalie Ainsley Gove made five saves for the Banana Slugs (7-2-5). Natalie Haro didn’t make a save for the Penguins (5-8-1).

UCSC plays at Redlands (7-8-1) on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Men’s soccer

UCSC 1, Menlo 0 >> Torin Volkamer scored in the 42nd minute and the Banana Slug held on for the win in their home finale on Wednesday.

Goalie Chris Jamrok made one save for the Banana Slugs. Alan Cruz-Gomez made two saves for the Oaks (8-3-1).

UCSC (5-1-8) plays at California Maritime Academy in Vallejo on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

Men’s water polo

At Cabrillo 21, Las Positas 16 >> Nolan Nguyen scored six goals and teammate Aidan Howard scored five in the Seahawks’ Coast Conference win Wednesday.

Ayden Reed scored four goals for Cabrillo, and Brandon Smith and Joe Brennan each scored three goals.

Goalie Ben Duarte made eight saves for the Seahawks (2-17-1, 2-2), who play at Diablo Valley (9-14) on Friday at 5 p.m.

Women’s volleyball

Las Positas 3, Cabrillo 1 >> The Seahawks lost 25-22, 25-22, 22-25, 26-24 in their Coast Conference North Division match Wednesday.
