Los Altos freshman Epenesa Elison shined on the biggest stage for girls wrestling during the 2024-25 season.
Elison, who is ranked No. 1 in the country at 115 pounds and is on the United States 17-and-under national team, had a perfect 26-0 record that included winning a CIF State championship.
In the finals at the state meet, Elison pinned Kaiya Maggini of Del Oro in 3:17 to win the title at 115 pounds.
She was named the Champion of Champions for the girls portion of the meet, an honor that goes to the most dominant wrestler.
At the CIF Southern Section Central Division finals, Elison won by majority decision in the 115-pound final. At the CIF-SS Masters meet a week later, Elison won the championship with a pin in the finals.
