Virginia Ann Rains, born in Waverly, Tennessee on March 30, 1934, peacefully concluded her earthly journey on July 5, 2025, surrounded by love.

She was strong-willed, sharp, and never afraid to speak her mind.

She had something to say about everything— and we loved her for it. Her honesty, humor, and stubbornness were matched only by her deep love for her family. Bingo nights were sacred to Virginia. She played with sharp focus, a full purse, and the same no-nonsense attitude she brought to everything else in life. If there’s bingo in the afterlife, she’s already winning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, and her beloved sons Ron and Greg. She is survived by her son Michael; granddaughters Renee, Rachel, and Hannah; and great grand daughter Melanie. Each of them carries a part of her spirit—her strength, her wit, and her gentle wisdom. She will be missed beyond measure and remembered with reverence, laughter, and the kind of strength she gave to everyone who knew her. And wherever she is now, we can be sure she’s letting someone know the coffee isn’t hot enough. A visitation for Virginia will be held Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 10-1:30 p.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 West University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307.
